The roll is Kodak Panchromatic Nitrate Film with year symbols ■■ which for cinematographic film indicate that it was manufactured in the United States in 1940. If this is the case it must have been expired by 1949. It was found in a plain cardboard box with the dates From March to September 1949 written in pencil. The rest of the writing is unclear.
